This is a picture of the grave of Robert F. Anderson. Bob was a High School classmate and best friend of my brother George. They both went off into WWII George going to Europe as a Gunnery Mechanic on medium and heavy bombers, Bob was a little guy so he ended up flying as a crew member in single engine aircraft that was shot down somewhere around the Philippines. His body was recovered and is buried at the American Military Cemetery in Manila. I didn't know where he was or even if his body was ever found until I emailed the Cemetery with his information and they emailed me back within an hour with a picture of his grave and where he was from as well as the outfit he was in, the 675th Bomb Squadron. At the time of Bobs death "Jan. 27th, 1945" the 675th was assigned to McGuire Field in San Jose, on the Island of Mindoro in the Philippines.
